Over the past 30 years, coral reefs in
the Philippines have been slowly dying. The most productive
reef areas in the world are now known as some of the most
endangered. Coastal development, sedimentation, dynamite
and cyanide fishing, overfishing, pollution and global warming
have all contributed to the damage.
The good news is that Reef Check has shown
that it is not too late! Together we can reverse the decline
of the coral reef health and productivity within as little
as one year.
